Sterling Silver is 92.5% silver with 7.5% alloy. We do not use nickel in our sterling silver, so most people are able to wear it.
All Silver naturally tarnishes as it reacts with oxygen and chemicals. Our sterling silver is tarnish resistant as it is de-oxidized, but over time all sterling will tarnish.
When wearing Sterling Silver you should do your best to avoid the following:
Water
Do not shower or do dishes with your jewelry on. Chemicals, soaps and water can all tarnish or damage your jewelry.
Beauty Products
Avoid getting beauty products such as lotions, hair products and oils on your jewelry.
Swimming
Never wear your jewelry while swimming. Pools, fresh water and salt water can all damage your jewelry.
Leaving it Out
Avoid leaving jewelry out and not in a box or bag. Exposure to air will cause Silver to tarnish faster.
Cleaning Products
Avoid soaps with bleach/chlorine and household cleaning products.
Working Out
Remove jewelry before working out to avoid damage.
