Custom Jewelry Design Policy
At Jamming Gems, we enjoy helping customers bring unique jewelry ideas to life. Custom jewelry allows us to create pieces tailored to your vision while maintaining the craftsmanship and quality our company has been known for since 1993.
To ensure a smooth and transparent experience for both our customers and our workshop, the following policies apply to all custom design projects.
Custom Design Fees
Custom design projects require a design fee before CAD work begins.
Design fees cover the time required to:
Develop CAD renderings
Refine the design through revisions
Prepare the model for production
Custom design fees apply to the design process only and do not include the cost of casting, gemstones, materials, or finished jewelry production.
Design fees are non-refundable once design work has begun.
The Custom Design Process
Most custom projects follow the steps below:
Initial consultation and discussion of the design idea
Customer provides reference photos, sketches, or inspiration if available
CAD renderings are created for review
Revisions are made if needed
Final design approval is provided by the customer
Production begins
Production will not begin until the design has been approved.
Design Revisions
Custom design fees include up to two revisions to refine the design.
Additional revisions or major design changes beyond the included revisions may require additional design time and may incur additional design fees.
Design Timeline
CAD renderings are typically completed within 3–7 business days, depending on the complexity of the project and current design workload.
Production timelines vary depending on the design and materials used but are typically within 1 week after final design approval.
Custom or complex projects may require additional time.
CAD Renderings
CAD renderings are digital previews of the jewelry design.
While renderings provide an accurate representation of the finished piece, minor variations may occur in the final product due to casting, polishing, and hand setting processes.
Design Approval
Customers are responsible for carefully reviewing all design renderings before providing final approval.
Once a design has been approved and production has begun, additional changes may require additional work and additional charges.
Design Ownership
Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, all CAD files, digital models, and design intellectual property remain the property of Jamming Gems.
Custom design fees cover the time required to create the design but do not transfer ownership of the CAD files or digital models.
